Derry Girls star is the latest to head onto Dancing With The Stars

Derry Girls star Leah O'Rourke is the latest celebrity to be announced for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars. Best known for her role as Jenny Joyce on the hit Channel 4 series, Leah will be on our screens in January dancing her heart out. Speaking this morning, she said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the show. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. “I’m looking forward to taking on a new challenge, shaking off the school plait and showing a more glam side to me.” The Newry native played the goody-two-shoes prefect in the sitcom who always played by the rules, giving the audience a great laugh with her antics. Leah will also be joined on the show by RTÉ presenter Carl Mullen, Glee star Damien McGinty, footballer Stephanie Roche and rugby legend Shane Byrne. Also announced for the January series are GAA star Paul Brogan, Eurovision singer Brooke Scullion, Ireland's most loved Drag Queen Panti Bliss and SoSu founder Suzanne Jackson.
