Discussions are happening to “fix” a date for Easter

HerFamily

It’s a question that we ask every year and every year there’s a different answer: “When does Easter fall?”

It’s an important question because it means that the kids are off school and there’s always lots to organise.

But it seems we may not be asking that question for too many more years because the Archbishop of Canterbury is said to be discussing the prospect of choosing a fixed date with the other Christian churches.

According to reports the Most Rev Justin Welby is keen to agree on a fixed date for Easter as opposed to having it be determined by the first full moon after the spring equinox.

The change could happen in the next five to 10 years which means the calendar as we know it (and more importantly the school term) will change.

If you were wondering, Easter is actually early this year with Good Friday falling on March 25th… and yes, some shops are already selling eggs!
