Boy seriously injured after alleged dog attack in Wexford

A boy has been seriously injured following an alleged dog attack in Wexford.

In a statement to JOE.ie, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána confirmed that emergency services and Gardaí attended an incident in Enniscorthy on Sunday afternoon, November 27th.

The spokesperson said a male child “received serious injuries after being allegedly attacked by a dog”.

The boy was later airlifted to Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin where he is undergoing treatment for his injuries.

The Garda spokesperson also confirmed that the dog has since been “destroyed” and that inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
