Dublin Airport launches service so you’ll know exactly where your car is when you arrive home

Olivia Hayes

It ALWAYS happens.

You go away on holiday. You leave the car in the airport car park. You’re sure you remember where you parked it. Third pole on the right in section E3. You’re positive. Absolutely certain.

And then you come home, and you go to collect your car… and it’s just not there.

*Cue fights about the location, the worry that it was stolen, and the kids moaning that it’s taking too long.*

But then, oh… it was actually in E4 and you just got your signs mixed up. Ooops. There goes 30 minutes wasted.

Does the above sound super familiar to you? Because it’s happened to about four of us in the office in the past year… and Dublin Airport knows about it.

Earlier today, the airport tweeted that it has created new tags to put on your luggage so you never forget where your car is parked again.

It wrote on Twitter: “Last year 4,000 customers in our long-term car parks returned home & were unable to recall where they’d parked & needed help to find their car. To help address this problem we now have luggage tags at bus stops in the long-term car parks.”

Brilliant. Does anyone else love this idea?
