Dublin Zoo is hosting ‘Protect Our Planet’ this weekend and the kids will love it

Right up their alley!

If you’re looking for something fun to do with the kids this weekend then we have just the thing for you!

We all love a trip to the zoo and this weekend it’s hosting ‘Protect Our Planet’ which will explore climate change and sustainability being one of our biggest societal challenges in today’s world.

But, it won’t be all lectures and talks all weekend, instead you will be guided through fun and interactive challenges and activities, including taking part in a mini worm excavation, building your very own ‘Bug Hotel’, and exploring SSE Airtricity’s Eco Explorer Trail.

A mini worm excavation? We won’t be able to drag them away from it!

Of course, there will be a whole host of interactive talks featuring biodiversity specialists, eco rangers and SSE Airtricity energy experts so your kids will be able to learn and get on board with what’s happening to our planet.

These talks will take place between 12pm and 4pm at the lawn at Haughton House.

There will also be plenty of face painters, arts & crafts and lawn games for all the family to enjoy. SSE Airtricity – which is running the event – has an interactive Eco Explorer smartphone app to help you along the way.

‘Protect Our Planet’ weekend will take place on June 15 and 16.
