Dublin Zoo will remain closed until Friday due to President Joe Biden’s visit.

If you were planning on visiting the zoo during the last week of midterm then you may want to rearrange your plans.

Dublin Zoo confirmed it will be closed from 5 pm on Wednesday, April 12th.

It will then remain closed until the morning of Friday, April 14th.

The zoo tweeted, “Dublin Zoo will be closing a little earlier than normal, at 5 pm on Wednesday. The zoo will remain closed all day Thursday 13th of April.”

“We will reopen as normal on Friday 14th at 9.30 am.”

President Biden’s visit to Ireland will be concentrated throughout the day in Phoenix Park hence the zoo closures.

He is also set to visit Dundalk, Mayo and Belfast during his time in Ireland.

Gardaí confirmed road closures will be put in place during his four-day visit to Ireland. However, they stressed that traffic restrictions will be kept to the minimum required.

Any impact on the public will be localised and minimal, Gardaí stressed.

The President of the United States of America will arrive and depart at Dublin Airport, at various times over the course of the 4-day visit.

Normal operations will continue at Dublin Airport at all times, however travelling members of the public should allow additional time to arrive at the airport due to possible rolling road closures, particularly late Wednesday and early Friday.
