We may be in the midst of spring, but Irish weather sometimes resembles that of winter
Weather Alerts Ireland has forecasted that the remainder of the week will, sadly, stay wet and rainy — disappointing, but not very surprising given our recent weather.
As the week goes on, however, cold temperatures could potentially drop as low as -1, bringing the chance of snow and frost.
The forecaster has warned that snow is possible for higher ground on Wednesday (March 27th) and Thursday (March 28th).
Wednesday is set to be a cold day with temperatures of eight degrees, and overnight lows of -1.
Meanwhile, Thursday is expected to be slightly milder, with daytime highs of nine degrees and overnight temperatures of -1.
The forecaster says the ‘wintry showers’ that are possible will likely move away before the weekend, with any luck.
Met Eireann has also forecasted mixed weather outlooks for this Easter weekend.
Good Friday (March 29th)
Good Friday will bring a mix of sunshine and showers, some of those showers may be heavy with a continuing possibility of hail and thunder, so best to pack an umbrella and warm clothing if your plans are to go outdoors.
We will see the highest temperatures of eight to 11 degrees, with a dip in temperature by Friday night with lowest temperatures of -2 to +4 degrees.
Saturday (March 30th)
Saturday will be a little milder as we welcome some bright or sunny spells. However, there may be further showers, but not as many as previous days.
Highest temperatures of nine to 12 degrees with light breezes.
Easter Sunday (March 31st)
Families may enjoy a break in wet weather on Easter Sunday as it’s set to be a drier day than the days previous.
There will be just a few showers, with the highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees.
Easter Monday (April 1st)
As of now, weather forecasts for Easter Monday are looking a little less sunny as Met Eireann predicts a wet day with rain spreading westwards over the country.
The perfect excuse to stay in and enjoy the remainder of Easter eggs.
