Emmerdale star announces his farm will open as Santa’s Village

Ellen Fitzpatrick

Since his exit from Emmerdale and his appearance on Strictly Come Dancing, Kelvin Fletcher has changed up his career path a lot.

While he may have left the farm in the ITV soap, the actor has moved onto a new one – this time it’s his real-life 120 acre farm in Macclesfield.

After using the farm for all you could imagine when being a farmer, the actor has now confirmed that he will be opening it to the public this Christmas as he hosts a “magical” Santa’s Village event on weekends throughout December.

Announcing the news, he and his family said: “Fletchers on the Farm presents…. SANTA’S VILLAGE!!

“After the incredible success of our Easter Wonderland event we have decided to open up our farm THIS CHRISTMAS.

“We can’t wait to welcome you and your family for the MOST MAGICAL event of the season.”

While many were thrilled by the news, some criticised the prices Kelvin has set to visit the experience.

He confirmed over the weekend that tickets for the Christmas event would be available in a 48-hour “flash sale”.

Many were shocked by the “expensive” prices as passes range from £48 to £54 for children.

When it comes to adult prices, they range from £24 to £28 depending on the dates you choose in December.

If a family of four were to head to the Christmas event, it could see them spending a whopping £144 (€168) at the cheapest rate.

Following the backlash, the Fletchers have defended their prices, telling the Manchester Evening News: “The price reflects the experience.”
