Carl Mullan and his wife Aisling welcomed a baby girl this month.
2FM’s Carl Mullan has opened up about the birth of his second child. The dad and his wife Aisling welcomed their baby girl into the world earlier than expected.
Carl told his followers that he received an emergency call when he was live on air. He explained that only he and Donncha were on air when Aisling gave birth to their son two years ago and the same thing happened when their daughter was born.
Carl shared: “Doireann was on her holidays, and during the show two years ago I got a phone call from Ash to say she had gone into labour.
“I had to abandon Donncha live on the air and go become a dad,” he explained.

Carl revealed that Doireann was also on her holidays when he got the call to reveal Aisling was in labour with their daughter.
“Donncha and myself made a joke about this on the air, about the prospect of me having to abandon him if Aisling was to go into labour.”
During the show, Carl turned to Donncha and told him he had to go.
“I have to abandon Donncha because, for a second time, my wife had gone into labour while we were live on the breakfast show.”
Carl and Aisling’s daughter was born on August 16th.
The proud dad-of-two announced their daughter’s arrival on Instagram.
Alongside a beautiful photo of their baby girl, he wrote:
“Welcome to the world Éala Mullan. Our beautiful little girl arrived last week and she and her Mam are doing great. We’ve spent the last few days just soaking up every second of having her here.”
