Bring it on!

The New Year can only mean one thing when you’re life revolves around Love Island (like mine does), the winter series is on the way.

After last year’s show saw some explosive moments, the series was renewed for two more seasons, which meant the return of the winter villa.

While very little is known about the series as of yet, it’s coming sooner than we think and we need to cover all our basis when it comes to the show that will have us hooked for two months of our lives – so this is what we do know.

Where is the new series filmed?

The upcoming Love Island series will be filmed in South Africa, where contestants will be staying in a secluded luxury mansion in a ‘protected’ area in the Franschhoek wine valley.

A source told the Sun: “This year’s contestants will be flown out to South Africa earlier in January and will start filming for the first episode the day before.

“The grand finale will take place eight weeks later on March 13.

“It is a really exciting time for everyone who works on the show and they cannot wait to get started.”

Winter Love Island 2023 cast

The lineup is yet to be announced but is expected to be very soon as the series is starting to air in mid-January.

Winter Love Island 2023 trailer

ITV revealed a couple of teaser trailers for the new run on St. Stephen’s Day 2022 including one which saw new host Maya Jama alongside the caption “New year, new series, new host. Let’s do this, @MayaJama.”

Another featured a spinning pink bronco and was captioned: “Are you ready to grab love by the horns? You know what’s coming when you hear this noise.”

Who is hosting Love Island’s 2023 winter series?

ITV announced in October of 2022 that Maya Jama would be taking over as host after Laura Whitmore announced her exit from the show.

Speaking about her new role, Maya said: “I’ve always been such a massive Love Island fan and I’m so excited to be hosting one of the nation’s favourite shows! I can’t wait to get into the Villa to meet all of the Islanders.”

When will Love Island’s 2023 Winter series be on?

While there is no official date announced yet, it seems the series will hit the screen in January 2023 and there have been rumours it will be starting as early as Monday, January 16.

Who won the last series of Winter Love Island?

The last Winter season took place in 2020 just before the pandemic hit and was won by Paige Turley and Finn Tapp, and they’re happily still together to this day.
