Joe Wicks confirmed his wife needed to undergo urgent surgery but she’s recovering well
Fitness influencer, Joe Wicks has confirmed his wife needed to undergo surgery recently. His wife Rosie, who is currently pregnant with their fourth child, needed to have her appendix taken out, but thankfully the surgery was a success.
Joe confirmed on Instagram that Rosie has already been discharged from the hospital following the procedure.
He revealed that Rosie is now “on the mend”.
“Rosie had to go into hospital last week to have her appendix out. She and the baby are all good. She’s on the mend now,” Joe wrote.
Rosie had been suffering from stomach cramps before she was rushed to the hospital.
Having your appendix taken out is a safe surgery for pregnant people. According to the National Institute, it is safe for both the mother and fetus to undergo a laparoscopic appendectomy.
They stressed, “Laparoscopic appendectomy is safe for both the mother and the fetus during pregnancy irrespective of gestational age, and the procedure is associated with a low risk of postoperative complications.”
Joe and Rosie confirmed they were expecting their fourth child together earlier this year.
They made the announcement when Rosie was 20 weeks pregnant. Joe posted a photo of him and Rosie on Instagram to share the special news.
He wrote, “Baby number 4 incoming #20weeks” alongside the sweet family snap.
Joe and Rosie are already parents to daughter Indigo, and sons Marley and Leni.
