Kelsey Parker said she’s trying to make Christmas ‘magical’ for her two children
Christmas may be a wonderful time of year for many, but Kelsey Parker has opened up about the reality of the holiday.
The mum-of-two said the holidays have been so difficult ever since she lost her husband, Tom Parker.
The Wanted singer sadly passed away in March 2022 after being diagnosed with brain cancer.
Tom, who was only 33 when he died, had two children with Kelsey before his untimely death.
The couple have a son named Bodhi and a daughter named Aurelia.
Kelsey said her children are excited about the Christmas break, but it just doesn’t feel the same without Tom.
The mum-of-two said she’s really not looking forward to the holidays “for obvious reasons”.
She told OK:
“I feel like my Christmas spirit has been sucked out of me.
“My kids are excited for Christmas so I want it to be as magical and amazing for them as possible,” she explained.
Kelsey added, “But it’s still going to be so tough for me because my Christmas is never going to be the same again.”
As hard as Christmas will be for the mum and her children, Kelsey is looking forward to 2024.
She said she is hoping to raise more funds for brain cancer charities next year.
Kelsey explained that her main focus in 2023 was to “balance dealing with my grief and learning how to live my life without Tom”.
“My grief remains the same now and is still so hard, but next year I can focus on raising money,” she added.
Tom Parker is survived by his wife, Kelsey Parker, and their two children.
He passed away on March 30th, 2022.
