They are all so deserving of their awards!

Lottie Ryan, 37, has been crowned as the Woman’s Way & Beko Celebrity Mum of the Year.

At a ceremony in Dublin yesterday (October 13th), the mum-of-one was honoured for her open and honest discourse around her pregnancy and parenting, as well as her inspiring parenting podcast with Jennifer Zamparelli called ‘Jen & Lottie Do… Parenting.’

Last year’s recipient of the award, Rosanna Davison, presented Lottie with the title.

Lottie has also been transparent with her followers and listeners of the podcast about her son Wolf’s communication struggles.

In a recent episode of her podcast, she told her co-host about an interaction with a staff member at her sin’s creche, who brought her son’s speech development to her attention.

“Thankfully, because they have been looking after Wolf since he was only four months old, they know him really, really well. When they have observations or opinions, I take it really, really seriously because they know Wolf better than anyone does.

“I was called in one day for a chat and told that they think it’s time for some early intervention with speech, that he was having a speech delay, they think.”

She admitted that the revelation about Wolf’s speech and his minimal interaction with other children upset her but it encouraged her to seek help immediately.

The awards, now in their 20th year, also saw Dr Aoife Harvey, a specialist in women’s pelvic health physiotherapy, crowned The Woman’s Way & Beko Mum of the Year for 2023.

Dr. Harvey, a mum of two, was recognised for being a voice on women’s health issues and for breaking many taboos around female vaginal health.

Elsewhere, elite athletes and married couple, Hannah Tyrrell and Sorcha Turnbull, received the Special Recognition Award.

The pair have been recognised for their talent and sporting achievements, as well as paving the wave for same-sex couples by bringing visibility as a same-sex couple at the highest level.

The award-winning couple recently welcomed a baby girl and have started their journey into motherhood.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the awards, Lorraine O’Connor was presented the Trailblazer award.

Lorraine’s saved the lives of hundreds of people after founding the Muslim Sisters of Éire in 2010 following her own conversion to Islam in 2005.

The charity feeds the homeless every week outside the GPO and support all women, but especially Muslim women and girls.

A massive congratulations to all of these incredible and inspiring women!
