"Call loved ones every day"
Daddy's Home actor,
Mark Wahlberg, said he still listens to voicemails sent to him by his mum before she died.
It's been two years since his beloved mum, Alma Wahlberg passed away at the age of 78 after suffering from dementia.
Mark, his brother Donnie and other members of the Wahlberg family paid tributes to Alma with Mark calling her his "angel".
The Ted actor opened up about his mum having
dementia in recent years and said she was often "confused".
Taking to his Instagram account, Mark wrote: "During my visit, she didn’t remember much and was often confused, but somehow she was still Alma."
Remembering his mum, Mark called her "an inspiration" and admitted he still listens to her voicemails regularly to keep his mum in his memory.
Speaking to
Today, he said: "All I have now is the recordings and the voicemails that she left me, and I listen to them quite often.
"I remind people to call loved ones every day. Tell them how much you love them, and be there and connect with them as much as possible."
Alma worked hard her whole life raising a large family and thankfully she got to enjoy and witness the successes of her
children.
Mark of course, a very successful actor and
BAFTA award winner and Donnie Wahlberg, a well-respected TV producer.
She even starred in Donnie's
TV series based on the family's Burger diner franchise.
The series was called Wahlburgers and Alma played a waiter at one of the restaurants.
