"Do you ask their dad when he's out?"
Megan Fox has opened about the mum-shaming she has experienced as a mother working in Hollywood.
In an interview with
InStyle, the actress called out sexist comments wondering where her sons Noah, 8, Bodhi, 7, and Journey, 4 are when she's photographed without them.
"There's so much judgment," she said, adding that she's always subjected to the question, "where are your kids?"
The 35-year-old elaborated on how there's a double standard, claiming estranged husband Brian Austin Green is never asked the same. The pair split at the end of 2019 and she has been in a relationship with rapper Machine Gun Kelly since last summer.

"Do you ask their dad when he's out? No, because you don't expect a dad to be with the kids all the time, but I'm supposed to not be seen and be at home with my kids.
"They have another parent. I have to leave and sometimes I don't want them photographed and they don't come with me. This whole year I've been very surprised by how archaic some of the mindsets still are in some people."
The actress then began to cry when speaking of wanting to protect her boys from "mean, awful people and cruel people," particularly as eldest son Noah has been subject to bullying both online and at school for wearing dresses.

Paparazzi have photographed him wearing princess dresses on a number of occasions while running errands with Megan, and critics were quick to shame both mother and son.
"I don't want him to ever have to read that shit because he hears it from little kids at his own school who are like, 'Boys don't wear dresses,'" she said.
Given the treatment Megan has received over the course of her career, it's unsurprising she'd want to protect her sons from scrutiny.
