Olly Murs is officially a dad
Singer Olly Murs and his wife Amelia have welcomed their first child together.
The former X Factor star confirmed the news by posting a photo from the maternity hospital on Instagram.
He confirmed that Amelia gave birth to a healthy baby girl and we couldn’t be happier for them.
Alongside the sweet photo of the new parents carrying their newborn out of the hospital, Olly wrote: “Our mini murs has arrived.”
The new dad also confirmed the name of his daughter in the post. The couple decided to call their little girl Madison.
The charming name is of English origin and was often used as a surname before becoming more popular in recent years as a first name.
The name has quite a touching meaning which has made it more popular with new parents.
The name Madison means ‘strength in battle’.
Olly couldn’t help but gush about their baby girl in the announcement post.
“Madison we love you so much already x,” he wrote.
The singer’s famous friends were quick to shower the new parents with loving messages after they shared the special news.
Laura Whitmore, Aston Merrygold, Craig David, and Vicky Pattinson all congratulated the parents on their new arrival.
Olly and Amelia revealed they were expecting their first child together in December.
