Prince William recently shared a key parenting principle that he uses when raising his three children; Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
While attending an event hosted by the NFL Foundation, the Prince of Wales was presented with a special gift – a football – which he accepted with a light-hearted comment about life as a parent.
After receiving the football to take home to his children, William remarked: “Never go home empty-handed.”
He went on to explain that this is a motto he embraces as a parent, saying: “That’s a crucial motto of being a parent. They’ll love that.”
His words show the effort he makes to always bring something back for his kids, no matter how small, to maintain a sense of connection with them while balancing his busy public life.
The NFL Foundation event, which highlighted the organisation’s work in supporting young people in underserved communities, gave William the chance to showcase his own football skills.
After demonstrating impressive throwing abilities, the prince joked that he would “do some practice at home and see how many windows I can smash.”
William’s athletic skills didn’t go unnoticed. Former Buffalo Bills coach and Sky Sports pundit, Phoebe Schecter praised the prince’s throwing strength, saying: “His arm strength is incredible.
“I could not believe how far he could throw the ball. He did a great job. Very coachable.”
Attendees were equally impressed when William managed to throw the ball through a target on a piece of football training equipment.
