The heartbreaking card Princess Charlotte sent to ‘Granny Diana’ in heaven

William wants to make sure his kids know about their late grandmother.

Princess Diana passed long before her sons became parents, but she still plays an important role in her grandchildren's lives. Prince William vowed to always make sure that his children hear all about his mother. He has decorated their home with photos of his late mother and constantly talks about her. Unfortunately, Kate Middleton didn't get to meet Diana before she died so the mum doesn't have personal stories to tell. Speaking in the documentary Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, William said: "It’s important they know who she was and that she existed." "I think, constantly talking about Granny Diana, so we’ve got more photos up round the house now of her and we talk about her a bit and stuff. "It’s hard because obviously, Catherine didn’t know her, she cannot really provide that level of detail." She never got to meet her grandmother, but Princess Charlotte is aware of just how special she was. She even writes to her grandmother. Kate and William encouraged their children to write cards during the pandemic. Charlotte wanted to send a card to heaven for her 'Granny Diana'. On the card, the little princess wrote, “Dear Granny Diana, I am thinking of you on Mother’s Day. I love you very much, papa is missing you. Lots of love Charlotte.” William previously said Diana would have adored her grandchildren. "She'd be a nightmare grandmother, absolute nightmare." Willian said she "would love the children to bits, but she'd be an absolute nightmare." "She'd come and go and she'd come in probably at bath time, cause an amazing amount of scene, bubbles everywhere, bathwater all over the place and - and then leave." Prince William was only 15 when his mother was killed. Princess Diana died in a car accident in Paris in 1997. She was only 36-years-old.
