The actress shared some empowering words about pregnancy

Sienna Miller, 41, has opened about about being pregnant in her forties.

The actress already shares her 11-year-old daughter Marlowe with her ex-husband, Tom Sturridge.

She and her partner and fellow actor, Oli Green, 27, are now preparing to welcome their first child together.

Speaking to Vogue for the December cover issue, Sienna admitted her age is something she feels insecure about at times.

“I’d love to get to a point where I didn’t feel the need to make a joke of my being older and having a baby,” she told the publication.

“To show I’m in on the joke.”

The ‘American Woman’ actress then revealed the inspiration behind her went iconic belly-baring fit she wore at Vogue World in September.

While she felt ‘nervous about the idea of it’, she confessed that “once I had it on, everything else felt boring. I was like, ‘I’ll have that photo for the rest of my baby’s life.'”

“It’s kind of fascinating to fight your own prejudice against yourself. I’m constantly doing that.”

The outlet revealed that Sienna is in her third trimester, putting her at 28 weeks at the time of print.

Reflecting on her first pregnancy with Marlowe, she discussed the difference between these two pregnancies, namely the pressure she put on herself the first time around.

“I spent so much time preparing for the birth, and absolutely no thought was given to what happens when I’d get home with a baby. At least now I’m aware of what that’s like.”

At the time of her first pregnancy, the actress was determined to have a “natural birth”, something that didn’t pan out as she hoped.

Instead, Sienna was induced and experienced 27 hours of labour, which she described as “a horrible trick of the universe”.

In the end, Marlowe arrived via C-section, and the soon-to-be-mum-of-two internalised the experience.

Sienna has since learned that it wasn’t her fault and vows not to allow that pressure to affect her when it comes time to welcome her new baby.

“It was so essential in my mind that I got it ‘right.’ And so emblematic of the kind of mother I would be that I didn’t. But I know in retrospect that was just the demons of new motherhood.”

“I just don’t think I’ll put that pressure on myself [this time].”
