Tributes paid to Eve O’Callaghan after Kerry car accident

Eve O’ Callaghan died in a car accident on Saturday.

Tributes have been pouring in following the death of 13-year-old Eve O’ Callaghan. The teenage girl tragically died in a car accident in Tralee on October 29th.

Eve lost her life in a single-vehicle collision at Derrymore East, Tralee at 5.15 pm.

The driver of the car, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening.

None of the other passengers were injured in the accident.

Eve has been remembered as “exceptionally kind and caring”.

She just started attending Presentation Secondary School before her untimely death.

Principal Chrissie Kelly told The Kerryman;

“She had a beaming smile from when she walked in the front door in the morning, to saying goodbye to me at the school gate every evening.”

“She was quick to notice when others needed help and generous with her time and talents.”

Annascaul GAA and Coiste na nOg also paid tribute to Eve.

“Our deepest sympathies to the O’Callaghan family on the recent passing of Eve. Eve’s father Donal is a coach at the underage level, while her siblings Jane and Jack, both play with our club.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this difficult time. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.”

Eve will be laid to rest on Wednesday, November 2nd.
