Five year old boy destroys art worth $132,000 but mother refuses to pay

How much?

Kids break things, it happens, but when this little boy broke a statue on a day out with his mother, it ended up being more than either of them bargained for.

The five-year-old destroyed a work of art worth a massive $132,000!

The unfortunate incident was caught on camera but apparently, this wasn’t enough to convince his mother that she should fork out the cost of the damages.
Sarah Goodman, who was attending a friend’s wedding at the time of the accident, refuses to pay and has even gone as far as to blame the venue.
When talking to KMBC, Goodman said
“That type of artwork had absolutely no business being in that community center,I cannot believe they allowed something so dangerous to be where kids play.”

She went on to say that her children were well supervised but the CCTV footage shows her child approaching and lifting the statue unattended.

It has caused mixed reactions online with some saying she was irresponsible and should pay and others saying the statue should have had better protection.

The statue created by artist Bill Lyons was made of glass and unfortunately can not be repaired.

The Goodman family are disputing the fact that they should pay the huge amount and the matter is currently being left to their insurance company to handle. Do you think that the parents were at fault for not properly supervising their child or should better the premises have had better security in place for such a delicate object?
