What a gal.

When Suzie McCash was four-year-old, she witnessed her mum have a severe allergic reaction.

Rowena McCash collapsed in front of her daughter because she had accidentally ingested salicylates – an acid frequently found in oranges.

With no one else in the house, Suzie was left alone to sort out the life-threatening situation herself.

And she did so by dialling emergency services, explaining what had happened, and ensuring that paramedics were on their way.

Rowena was taken to hospital where she began to recover.

But if her daughter hadn’t known what to do, the situation could have been much worse.

Suzie, now five-years-old, won a Pride of Britain award last night for her bravery and knowledge.

She received the Child of Courage award and was even congratulated by Prince William, who said that he was going to teach his son, George, about what she had done.

“I have a four-year-old called George and if I gave him a telephone, I do not know what he would do.

“Do you know what, I’m going to have a conversation with my George about what to do because of what you’ve done. It’s really important.”

Suzie attended the ceremony with mum Rowena and her dad William.
