A young woman has sadly passed away after a camogie match in Co. Galway.
The woman has been named as rising sports star Kate Moran, GalwayBeo reports.
According to reports, Kate was playing camogie in Ardrahan on Easter Monday.
However, during the match, the young woman suffered a serious head injury.
Kate was treated at the scene of the incident but was then rushed to University Hospital Galway.
Doctors did everything they could to treat her injury, but it was too severe.
The young woman was admitted to intensive care but sadly passed away on Tuesday afternoon.
Tributes have been pouring in since news of Kate's untimely passing emerged.
Kate was a renowned camogie player and her family was also well known in GAA circles.
An investigation into the young woman's death has been launched.
