‘Beautiful guardian angel’ — Mum-of-two tragically killed in Galway road accident

The mum sadly passed away following a road accident in Galway

The woman killed in a Galway road accident has been named as Irene Lynch.

Irene tragically passed away following a single-vehicle road traffic collision in Galway city.

The accident occurred on the morning of Friday, March 15th.

According to Gardaí, the car collided with a wall and entered the water in the Menlo area.

The mum-of-two was rushed to hospital following the incident. However, she was sadly pronounced dead on March 25th at University Hospital Galway.

There was also a man in his 40s travelling in the car at the time of the accident, but he was discharged from the hospital.

Irene’s family are understandably devastated following her untimely passing.

Her sister said she is now their “beautiful guardian angel”.

Gardaí are urging witnesses to come forward following the tragic accident.

They stated: “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Menlo area of Galway city between 6am and 7am on Friday 15th March 2024 are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.”
