Handsome Devil, the brilliant 2016 Irish coming-of-age comedy drama, is now on streaming.
Written and directed by John Butler (Your Bad Self), the film is set in an elite, rugby-obsessed, all-boys boarding school in Ireland.
It centres around Ned (Fionn O'Shea, Normal People), one of the only students at the school who does not enjoy rugby and who is often bullied.
When Conor (Nicholas Galitzine, The Idea of You) - a new student and star rugby player - is assigned to be Ned's roommate, the latter fears the worst.
With the help of their kind English teacher (a wonderful Andrew Scott, Ripley), however, an unlikely friendship develops between the two teens - one that winds up being tested by everyone else around them.
Inspired by Butler's own experiences attending Blackrock College in the 1980s, Handsome Devil is a well-observed, witty comedy-drama with a kind heart.
It also has a great supporting cast filled with Irish thespians, including Amy Huberman (Fran the Man), Ardal O'Hanlon (Father Ted), Michael McElhatton (Game of Thrones) and Moe Dunford (Michael Inside).
Handsome Devil is streaming on Disney+.
