Here’s when SuperValu, Lidl, Aldi, Tesco and Dunnes will reopen

Cathy Donohue

We can’t be the only ones running out of supplies.

It’s the third day of what’s been termed an extraordinary weather event and last night saw the country go into lockdown with everyone warned to stay indoors from 4 pm.

Although parts of the country saw intense snow overnight, Kildare was hit badly, it is getting brighter in other areas.

At this stage, we’re more than a little hangry and the bread jokes are wearing thin.

Thankfully, there will be some shops open today so you can replenish stocks depending on where you live.

At the time of writing, the below times are accurate but of course, this is subject to change.

SuperValu

Customers are urged to check with their local branch before travelling as conditions vary across the country.

Aldi

At the time of writing, Aldi is due to open at 5 pm today and if things change, this will be communicated.

Lidl

As things stand, Lidl stores are due to open this afternoon but again, it might be wise to check with your local store before travelling as things are changing so rapidly.

Tesco

Tesco stores remain closed today and will reopen tomorrow, Saturday 3 March.

Dunnes

The same goes for Dunnes, also due to reopen tomorrow. Originally, it was thought that stores in Northern Ireland would open at 1 pm but it’s now been confirmed that all Dunnes outlets will remain closed until tomorrow.

Marks and Spencer

The only store opening today is in Letterkenny, all others will be back in action tomorrow.
