Fresh air and discipline: What it’s really like to be a royal nanny to George, Charlotte and Louis

Maria Borrallo has been working for Kate and William since the birth of Prince George in 2013.

Everyone will agree that Prince George, Princess Charlotte and nine-month-old Prince Louis are a gorgeous trio of kids. Prince William often tells witty anecdotes about his children and Kate has said that she showers them with hugs. In public, the couple look very hands-on with their kids and generally appear to be a very happy family. So if there's any tea to be spilt, we want the 411. Maria Borrallo has been William and Kate's nanny since the birth of their first child. A book entitled Nanny in a Book by Louis Heren has revealed that "life is pretty normal" for George, six, Charlotte, four, and Louis, one, despite the spotlight being constantly on them. The Express reports that Maria Borrallo, who trained at the prestigious Norland College in Bath would have a "very nurturing and loving" approach to minding children but not without discipline if needed. 37-year-old Kate is reportedly "hands on" with her children and has a "very close" relationship with her nanny. Awww! We can't say we're surprised. Royal nannies spend a lot of time outdoors with the children, the book's author also revealed:

"There will be lots and lots of outdoor play, that’s the one thing you could say Norland are old-fashioned about. Loads of fresh air. "Lots of bike rides, playing with their dogs, potentially some gardening. Norland are very into teaching children through play."

They are also responsible for making the children look presentable for public events and ensuring they remain well behaved. Given their hectic schedules (and the unpredictability of children) we're guessing that it's no easy task!
