These ‘Hot Pants’ From The Kardashian Kids Clothing Line Are Causing Outrage

Sophie White

Is anyone surprised that a pair of ‘hot pants’ from the Kardashian Kids clothing line have attracted a bit of ire this week? I mean, we’ve all seen what the entrepreneurial sistas consider to be ‘clothes’. Underwear mainly.

The offensive shorts in question, to my mind anyway, provide infinitely more coverage than most of the get up Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kylie and Kendall generally wear.

Of course, it being the Kardashians there will always be a certain amount of debate around anything they do.

A concerned mother has posted to Australian retailer, Big W’s Facebook page addressing what she believes to be inappropriate attire for a toddler – a pair of gold sequinned hot pants – being stocked in their store.

In the post she writes:

“Is it just me or does anyone else find this shorts inappropriate for a little girl? I don’t know if I’m getting old or something, but there’s no way I would buy these for any little girl in my family; I don’t know how or why Big W would sell these!”

The shorts in question, which came with a matching top were part of a collection that caters for newborns to toddlers

Big W was quick to respond and asked the mother if she would provide her contact details to engage in further investigation of her complaint.

However, the mum replied that she only wanted the clothes removed.

“Thank you for your reply, but I don’t know why you need my details when there’s a pretty simple solution…don’t sell inappropriate clothing for children,” she implored the retailer.

The mother quickly gained support from other customers. One posted to the page:

“I like the dresses but the crops and shorts I would NEVER put on Destiny Maree!”

While another chimed in, “I just looked at them and walked out. I don’t get any clothes for bub from there anymore I don’t want to dress her as a teenager/adult! It’s kinda sad.”

It’s not the first time the Kardashian Kids line has attracted criticism.

In 2014, a group of mothers in America successfully petitioned to remove the range from the shelves of all Babies ‘R’ Us stores.

Big W, the line’s only Australian retailer, has withdrawn the collection.

What do YOU think of the shorts? Are they totally outrageous or just, well, a pair of shorts? Let us know in the comments or join the conversation @HerFamilyDotie.
