“It was absolutely gut-wrenching”

A mother and her newborn baby have been found dead in a hotel room in England.

They were discovered “unresponsive” at a Travelodge in Leicester City Centre.

The hotel is located near the Haymarket Shopping Centre.

The alarm was raised by the hotel staff.

Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 3 pm, according to Leicester Live.

Both the mother and her baby were taken to the hospital, but despite the healthcare workers’ best efforts, they were both pronounced dead at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

According to Leicester Police, the East Midlands Ambulance Service arrived at the scene at 3 pm.

The paramedics contacted the police, who also attended the scene.

They made the call after discovering the mother and baby in the hotel room. They believe the baby had just been delivered in the hotel room.

“Officers attended the scene and both were taken to hospital where sadly they were pronounced deceased shortly after arrival,” she added. “The deaths are not being treated as suspicious, but unexplained, while further inquiries are being carried out.”

An eye-witness told the publication that it was the most harrowing thing they’ve ever seen.

“Behind her, medics were carrying out a baby. I then noticed that the paramedics were administering CPR to the woman – and soon realised they were doing the same to the baby.”

“They were trying to save their lives as we all stood there powerless to help.

They added, “It was absolutely gut-wrenching.”

We’re keeping their loved ones in our thoughts.
