How exciting!
Another day, another royal wedding… well, kind of.
It’s official – Prince William’s best friend, Thomas van Straubenzee, is set to marry.
And lads, his gorgeous bride to be is one of our own.
That’s right, the future King’s BFF proposed to his girlfriend, Kilkenny native, Lucy Lanigan-O’Keeffe.
Gorgeous.
Lucy is a teacher at Thomas’s Battersea, where Prince George currently attends school, and where Princess Charlotte is expected to start later this year.
So we suspect this has something to do with how they met, right?
According to reporter Roya Nikkhah for the Sunday Times, the couple recently got engaged.
In relation to how the happy couple met, the paper also claims that “nobody would be surprised if Prince William or his wife, Kate, were involved.”
That would make sense, in fairness.
Lucy Lanigan-O’Keeffe is originally from Kilkenny, and is the sister of Olympic pentathlete Arthur Lanigan-O’Keeffe and daughter of barrister Stephen Lanigan-O’Keeffe.
Impressive family.
And we can’t bloody wait for the wedding! Why?
Well, it is expected that the royal children will play a significant role in the big day.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte will serve as bridal attendants, while Prince William and Prince Harry will probably be ushers.
So while it might not be an official royal wedding, it’s as close as we’re getting for now.
Roll on the big day, and congrats to the happy couple.
