Up to 80 minute delays for Irish Rail this morning due to ‘mechanical issues’

Irish Rail has announced on Twitter that due to mechanical issues, there could be delays of up to 80 minutes on lines going out of Heuston Station. While it seemed the delays would be up to an hour at first, that has now grown to one hour, twenty minutes. The transport service took to the social media site to say: "Disruption to all services in and out of Heuston at present due to mechanical issues between Sallins and Newbridge. Passengers for GCD to join alternative services to Hazelhatch and change for GCD there." They later updated the news to say: "Expected delays of up to 80 mins to all services out of Heuston at present, and delays of up to 30 mins to all services into Heuston."
