The internet has been whipped into a frenzy in the last few hours by whisperings from Hollywood of a new Harry Potter film in the works.
According to Distractify, there has been confirmation that Warner Brothers have been seeking the rights to create another film based on Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, the final book/play set in Harry Potter’s wizarding world which is set about 20 years after we last left Harry, Ron, and Hermione. It has been suggested that the studio may even be looking to create a trilogy. Squeeeeeeeel.
Sadly the rumoured release date isn’t until 2020, though hard-core fan will get their JK Rowling fix with Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, coming this November.
According to reports the studio is only looking at one man/wizard for the role of Harry Potter and that, unfortunately, is none other than Harry Potter himself, Danial Radcliffe. And therein lies the rub, Radcliffe has made it abundantly clear in that past that he’s sworn off broomsticks and butterbeer for the foreseeable future.
One way that the studio may get around this obstacle is to focus the next installment on Harry Potter’s son. Here’s hoping.
