Jessica Falkholt could be in a coma for several months after a car accident that killed her parents and sister.

The Home and Away actress, 28, was severely injured in the St Stephen’s Day crash, which occurred when another vehicle hit into the car she and her family were travelling in in Mondayong in New South Wales, Australia.

Her mother and father, 60-year-old Vivian and 69-year-old Lars, died instantly at the scene of the crash while Jessica’s 21-year-old sister Annabelle passed away yesterday in hospital.

The driver of the other car, a 50-year-old man, also died as a result of the crash.

Jessica underwent surgery for internal injuries at St George Hospital on Thursday and is now in a stable condition but may remain in a coma for a long time, according to the Mail Online.

“The neurosurgeon came in yesterday and he just said the operation went well and it’s just a waiting game,” a family member told the paper.

“She could be in a coma for weeks or even months, she still has all the swelling on her brain.”

It’s thought that Jessica does not yet know what happened to her sister and parents.

She plays Hope Morrisson on Home and Away.
