In the third episode of the second season, the new cast compare JK Rowling to the iconic villain that she herself created, Voldemort.
While discussing a character in the show that they're trying to avoid mentioning the following conversation is had in which Rowling is fairly roasted by the Gen Z cast.
Character Daisy describes the situation in the episode as “like the one who must not be named from Harry Potter”.
When Aisha asks her if she's talking about Voldemort the teen corrects her and responds “JK Rowling.”
Over the last couple of years the author, famous for creating the Harry Potter series, has come under fire for her anti-trans comments.
Since making disparaging remarks about transgender women many, including some cast members of the Harry Potter films, have spoken out against Rowling.
With characters and actors in the Saved by the Bell revival who are themselves trans, it's no surprise that the scriptwriters on the show decided to throw a little shade the Rowling's way.
