It’s a heartbreaking time.
Last week, Johnny Ward revealed that his dad died from cancer. The Dancing With The Stars contestant took to social media and said that his father is now “pain free” in a emotional post.
Johnny danced last Sunday night, saying it was his dad’s wish for him to do so. He was heavily praised for staying so strong throughout the whole production.
Johnny has again taking to Instagram today to thank his supporters after his very “difficult” week.
The former Fair City star said: “What a week!Where do I start?Thank you all so much for your kind messages full of support for me and my family at this difficult time.
“It’s back to dancing again tonight and we have two very difficult dances. Please (If you can) text Johnny to 53125 when the lines open. We really need your votes. Love you all so much.”
Johnny recently said that he felt guilty for taking part in the dance competition while his dad was so sick.
He told Dublin Live in February: “Some days you just don’t want to go in and you don’t want to rehearse but he is like, ‘Please do it’, and he looks forward to it so much, but God love him, he is not well enough to come in and see the shows.
“You want to be around but for him to turn around and say, ‘Go in and do it for me’, it gives me more inspiration to go into it.”
