The parents of Julia Wendell have slated their daughter for claiming to be Madeleine McCann.
They stressed that the 21-year-old is definitely not the missing British girl.
Julia appeared on TV in America where she discussed the claims with Dr. Phil.
She told him that she truly believes she is the missing girl.
“I believe I am Madeleine McCann,” she said.
Dr. Phil said there is a chance that Julia could be “the most famous missing little girl in the world”.
He asked the audience, “Is it possible that Madeleine McCann has finally been found?”
“So, is Julia telling the truth? She’s going to answer that herself.”
Julia has completed DNA tests but has yet to receive the results.
She said even if they’re negative, she will reject her mother.
“If she is my mother I don’t want to have contact with her. But I don’t believe she is.”
The young woman believes Kate and Gerry McCann are her parents, but her own family in Poland says her claims are completely false.
Shortly after Julia went viral, her family confirmed she was not well.
Her family told the Polish charity ‘Missing Years Ago’ that their daughter suffers from mental health issues.
“We would like to take a stance on Julia’s case, which has spread the Internet and media in many countries in recent days. For us, as a family, it is obvious that Julia is our daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, and step-niece.
Her family confirmed they have pictures of Julia from her childhood.
“We always tried to understand all situations that happened with Julia. Numerous therapies, medicines, psychologists, and psychiatrists – Julka had it all guaranteed. She wasn’t left alone.”
Her family said they have been threatened since she claimed she was Madeleine McCann.
They also said they’ve done everything they could to stop Julia, but she has refused.

“We always tried to help her get back on her feet. Julia has been of age for several years.”
“She refuses treatment and also doesn’t take medicines regularly. She also did not take advantage of the treatment opportunity at a very good center in Poland, which agreed to accept her.”
Her family stressed, “It’s obvious that Julia isn’t Maddie.”
Her parents said they are completely heartbroken following her claims.
Julia’s claims have also been disputed by police in Poland.
