"I wish someone was honest about surrogacy"
Khloe Kardashian has been praised for opening up about how different surrogacy was. The mum-of-two welcomed her son Tatum via surrogacy but recently revealed she wasn't prepared for it.
Speaking in the latest episode of
The Kardashians, the mum said she felt guilty and disconnected during the process.
Khloe said she wishes someone had told her just how different she would feel during that second pregnancy.
"I felt really guilty that this woman just had my baby and I take the baby, and I go to another room and you’re separated.
Khloe explained, "It’s such a transactional experience because it’s not about him."
"I wish someone was honest about surrogacy and the difference of it, but it doesn’t mean it’s bad, it’s still great. It’s just very different," she continued.
Khloe said she felt disconnected from her son and found the overall experience difficult. The mum admitted that she "buried my head in the sand" during her pregnancy, but things didn't feel real until she got to the hospital.
"When I went to the hospital, I really think that was the first time that really registered," Khloe explained.
"It has nothing to do with the baby, it’s just… “Okay, we’re having a baby, this is my son and I’m taking him home with me.” I definitely was in a state of shock, I think, from my entire experience in general," she added.
Khloe is a mum to son Tatum and daughter True. She shares both of her children with her ex-boyfriend Tristan Thompson.
