Kid’s finger paints sold in Ireland urgently recalled over allergy fears

Parents in Ireland are being warned to bin a set of finger paints which are being recalled due to health concerns.

The Competitions and Consumer Protection Commission issued the notice on Wednesday, June 7th after officials found Formaldehyde was present.

This chemical is a skin sensitiser and can trigger allergic reactions in children and adults.

The brand is Magic Do – Tiger Zhou and is sold on Amazon.

The ASIN numbers are B072MQ3HBX, B06Y61WN7Q and B093KYQLDM. The model number is X001H8MCF3, however, the batch number and barcode are unknown.

There were approximately 16 of these products sold in the Republic of Ireland so far.

The notice read: “A safety issue has been identified with Magic Do – Tiger Zhou Finger Paints sold on the Amazon platform.

“The risk presented by the product is Chemical. The product exceeds the amount of formaldehyde permitted under the standard. Formaldehyde is a skin sensitiser that may trigger allergic reactions

“The brand is Magic Do – Tiger Zhou. The ASIN numbers are B072MQ3HBX, B06Y61WN7Q, and B093KYQLDM. The model number is X001H8MCF3. The batch number and barcode are unknown.

“The product was sold online through the Amazon platform.”

What to do

If you purchased one of these products, you should discontinue use immediately, throw the product away and keep it out of the reach of children.
