It’s believed the 35-year-old was threatened by men posing as police officers. Luckily her two children, Saint (9 months) and North (3 years), were not with her at the time.
The incident happened at a private luxury apartment in Paris at 2am. Reports from TMZ say that the robbers handcuffed the building’s security guard and then made their way into Kim’s room where they bound her, locked her inside the bathroom and stole jewellery worth millions.
Her husband, rapper Kayne West, left his concert mid-song when heard about the incident. He was performing at an event in New York when he walked off the stage, saying to disappointed fans, “I’m so sorry, it’s a family emergency.” Kim’s mother, Kris, and her sister Kendall were also staying in Paris at a different location. They rushed to be by her side after the emergency services were alerted. Kardashian spokesperson, Ina Treciokas said:
“Kim Kardashian West was held up at gunpoint inside her Paris hotel room this evening, by two armed masked men dressed as police officers. She is badly shaken but physically unharmed.”
The Guardian reported that that five armed men, who were still at large, stole a jewellery box containing valuables worth €6m as well as a ring worth €4m and then escaped on bikes.
Kim has been in Paris for fashion week and had attended the Balenciaga show earlier that day.
