Looks like Big Little Lies could be getting a second season

This would be amazing

We really hope this happens.

Looks like Big Little Lies is one step closer to getting a season two.

The dramatic adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel had originally been commissioned as a limited series – but ended up becoming a mammoth success.

While the HBO hit has yet to be officially renewed, fans have been hoping to see the ladies of Monterey on the small screen again.

And now show runner David E. Kelley has admitted he’s “kicking around ideas” for a second season of Big Little Lies.

He told Entertainment Weekly:

“We’re kicking it around. If we feel that the material warrants it, we’ll do it.

“Everybody’s game for getting the band back together, but we want to make sure that we’ve got the music to justify it.

“That decision hasn’t been made yet, and it’ll be story-driven when it is.”

And he told how he’s open to having Liane Moriarty on the screen writing side of things if a second series should happen.

He added:

“I’m certainly open to it. I think [Moriarty], for the book, was game to say, ‘Okay, it’s your baby. Run with it now.’

“But she’s a great writer, and she also writes excellent dialogue, so if she wanted to jump over to the screenwriting side of the fence, we’d welcome her.”
