Maia Dunphy and Johnny Vegas share baby news via brilliant tweets

Sophie White

Our fave Irish TV personality and courter of occasional controversy, Maia Dunphy has given birth to a baby boy last Friday after a pleasingly unceleb-like pregnancy, refreshingly devoid of body image hysteria and flesh coloured plastic bodycon dresses. Go Maia, thanks for sparing us.

Baby boy, Tom Laurence, was born last Friday at London’s Kingston Hospital and came in at a healthy 7lbs. 38-year-old, TV presenter and journalist, Maia and her comedian husband, Johnny Vegas kept the announcement of their new arrival quiet until late yesterday, presumably to give the family time to get to know each other. And to set up young Tom Laurence’s Twitter account. Dunphy previously worked with Zig and Zag’s production company and hosted RTÉ’s What Women Want in 2013 along with a stint on Celebrity Masterchef. She and Vegas, who married in 2011, live in London. Vegas also has a ten-year-old son, Michael, from a previous relationship.

True to her always funny form Maia has posted some awesome post baba tweets:

Impressively, for a woman in the throws of new parenthood, Maia, is also managing to keep up with current affairs, though a bit of miss-reporting understandably confused her somewhat…

Meanwhile Johnny is keen to help out as much as he can…

We think it’s safe to say that little Tom Laurence has the funniest parents in the world, though natch they will be a MAJOR source of embarrassment to him one day.
