Man charged with the murder of 24-year-old mother Jennifer Poole

Ms Poole was fatally stabbed at her home.

Gardaí in Finglas are investigating all the circumstances surrounding a fatal assault that occurred in Melville Drive, Finglas, Dublin 11 on Saturday 17th April 2021, shortly after 2pm.

A female, aged in her 20s, received fatal injuries during the incident. The woman was later identified as 24-year-old mother of two Jennifer Poole.

Emergency services attended the scene and Ms Poole was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

A man in his 20s arrested in relation to the death of a woman at a property in Melville Drive, Finglas on Saturday 17th April 2021 has been charged.

He is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court in Dublin, this morning, Monday 19th April 2021 at 10:30am.

Ms Poole has two children and it is believed that her four-year-old son witnessed the attack. Her daughter was with a relative at the time.

Locals in the area appeared on RTE news speaking of their shock that something so horrific could happen in an otherwise quiet estate.

Many mourners have left flowers outside of the young woman’s home as the entire area tries to come to terms with this terrible tragedy.
