Meghan Markle apologised to her former high-school classmates for not attending their reunion – just days before giving birth.

It’s been a busy time for Meghan.

The Duchess became a mum on 6 May, just weeks after moving to her new home at Frogmore Cottage with husband Harry.

Her high-school reunion also took place earlier this month but for obvious reasons, she couldn’t attend.

Meghan was a student at Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles between 1996 and 1999.

Graduates of the class of ’99 got together for a catch-up on 5 May (the night before Meghan gave birth) and had been hoping that she might be there.

She did however send her old friends a letter from Kensington Palace apologising for her absence.

“Everyone was disappointed that they did not get to catch up with Meghan given everything that has happened to her,” one class member told The Daily Mail.

“But the whole group was super excited about her giving birth to the first British-American prince, it was all anyone talked about.

“They were so excited to get that letter from her. She is remembered as someone who is very thoughtful, and to get that kind of attention now that she is a Royal went down really well.

“Hopefully she will be able to make it to the 25 year reunion and she is welcome to bring Harry and Archie along with her.”

Meghan and Harry welcomed their son Archie early on the morning of 6 May – and Immaculate Heart High School was among the first to congratulate her.

“The school community extends best wishes of happiness to the Royal Family on this joyous event!,” read the message shared on its Facebook page.
