If you’re heading out for Halloween, it’s best you take an umbrella with you.
Met Eireann has just given an update ahead of tonight’s festivities.
According to the weather forecasters, heavy and “widespread rain” is expected to land in the later afternoon, “pushing from the southwest from about 4pm, moving right up across the country.”
And so, if you’re planning to head out trick or treating, it’s best to do so early as Met Eireann noted that the rain will become persistent with the chances of flooding in some parts of the country.
“While there’ll be good dry spells over the north and east, the rain will turn heavier and more persistent in the south and west during the afternoon.
“Rainfall will become widespread later in the evening and will be heavy at times leading to flooding in places.”
Towards the weekend, it appears as though we’re in for “some wet and windy weather” as the weatherman continued by saying:
“The unsettled showery weather continues through the weekend with a wet and potentially windy day on Saturday with further spells of rain or showers on Sunday.”
Glorious.
