Met Éireann say conditions will be frosty, foggy and wet today

There will be a little bit of sunshine, but it won't last for very long.

Met Éireann has predicted that we're in for a rather chilly day. Temperatures will be much the same as yesterday with strong breezes along the Atlantic coast. The weather forecaster said: "A cold start the day with frost and fog patches soon clearing. Spells of winter sunshine will develop fairly widely, but becoming cloudy across southern and western coastal counties later. "Staying cooler than normal, with highest temperatures of 6 to 9 degrees, in mostly moderate southerly breezes, which will be stronger up along Atlantic coasts."

Tonight, we're going to see rain, which will move into "many areas" and winds getting stronger. "Outbreaks of rain will affect Atlantic counties tonight, gradually moving into many other areas before morning. However, parts of the east will stay dry. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees, in mostly moderate southerly breezes, still stronger up along the Atlantic coastline." Met Éireann said this morning that the rest of the week will be quite "unsettled" with "blustery westerly winds and occasional spells of rain."
