Met Éireann predicts the weather will get ‘drier and milder’ leading into the New Year

That’s what we want to hear.

If you have any plans leading into the New Year then you’ll be happy to know that the weather is looking better. We’ve been hit with wind and rain throughout most of the Christmas holidays, however it’s finally looking up.

Met Éireann has predicted that temperatures will rise over the next few days and we’re going to get a few sunny spells, too.

The weather forecaster said: “Mild and breezy today, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle affecting western and northern counties.

“Mainly dry conditions persisting further south and east, with some limited brighter intervals. Maximum temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in mostly moderate to fresh, occasionally gusty, southerly breezes, increasing strong along Atlantic coasts.

“Sunday looks set to be a mainly dry day with sunny spells developing. Very mild with maximum temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees in moderate to fresh southerly winds.

“The weather will turn a little more changeable next week but overall it will remain drier and milder than average.”

After the weather we’ve had in the past month, we’ll take it!
