Met Éireann predict that the weather will stay dry and warm today

Finally, a pleasant day.

In the past week or so we’ve seen nothing but rain. While there has been a few dry spells, it has mainly lashed all over the country – and a few weather warnings were thrown in too.

However, Met Éireann says that today is looking better and while there will be a few “scattered showers” it will stay mainly dry.

The weather forecaster said: “This morning will be mainly dry with good sunshine. There’ll be scattered showers in the west. These will extend eastwards today and will mainly affect the western half of the country. Eastern coastal counties will stay dry. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees with moderate southwest winds, strengthening on the west coast later.”

It won’t stay calm for long though and tonight is predicted to be “blustery or windy,” with rain becoming heavy in a few areas.

“Tonight will become quite blustery or windy, especially in coastal areas as south to southwest winds strengthen. Many areas will be mainly dry. However, showers will become heavy in western and southern coastal counties. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees.”
