This is the weather that’s in store for the Paddy’s Day weekend

It's not the best, to be honest.

But, it's not the worst either. It's safe to say we're all looking forward to the long weekend, and whether you're heading out to town, staying in the local or cosying up at home, a three-day weekend is always welcome (very sorry to those of you who have to work, though). If you're wondering what the weather is going to be like during the Paddy's Day weekend, Met Éireann has issued its predictions, and well, you'll probably want to bring an umbrella with you, just in case. The weather forecaster said: "A low pressure system is likely to track across Ireland during Saturday bringing heavy and persistent rain with it as well as the risk of hail.

"Over the north, northwest and parts of the west rain will turn to sleet and snow over higher ground. Rain will clear to scattered showers by evening. Afternoon temperatures will be 2 to 4 degrees in the north and parts of the west but elsewhere afternoon temperatures will be around 5 to 8 degrees. Strong and gusty southwest winds will veer west to northwest and moderate by evening." Meanwhile, "Saturday night will be cold with scattered showers becoming confined to the west and north and mostly dry elsewhere. Some showers will be wintry. Lowest temperatures will fall to between -1 to +3 degrees with frost and icy stretches." And as for Paddy's Day itself: "Sunday, St Patrick's day is likely to be a bright and cold day with sunny spells and scattered showers, some of the showers could be wintry. Top temperatures 7 to 9 degrees in a moderate to fresh northwesterly breeze."
