Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning for 10 counties.
It has warned the public to prepare for persistent rainfall and potential flooding from Tuesday, October 27th.
The warning will be in place in Co. Kerry from 1 am tonight and 3 am in Co. Cork.
A warning has been put in place in Waterford, Laois, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Wexford, Wicklow, and Tipperary from 5 am.
Met Éireann warned the public of “persistent and locally heavy rain, leading to localised flooding”.
Mild temperatures between 11 to 14 degrees Celsius have been forecasted for the week ahead.
Fresh to strong and gusty southwest winds will gradually moderate, except in the south and southeast where winds will remain brisk, forecasters added.
Munster and Leinster are set to experience the bulk of bad weather on Wednesday. There will be an ongoing risk of flooding in these areas.
Any dreams of spending the midterm break in playgrounds, parks, and pumpkin patches have been shattered.
