Met Éireann issues another update on the snow and ice weather warning

The weather has been all over the place over the last few days.

A weather warning was issued during the week, which has been updated. The warning was updated this morning saying that "some snow showers [will] mainly [fall] in northern and northwestern areas."

It doesn't look like the weekend about to get any better. According to Met Éireann the weather is going to be quite unsettled and scattered over the weekend, with sleet, snow and frost on the way. The weather forecaster said: "A very cold start; severe frost will clear generally, but may linger in some shaded areas. Apart from scattered hail or snow showers near west coasts, most areas will be dry with god sunshine. Highest temperatures 2 to 6 degrees. Northwest winds will ease." Tonight will be dry for the first few hours, however rain will be on the way and temperatures will reach -3C. "Dry early tonight with sharp to severe frost developing and temperatures reaching zero to -3 degrees - coldest in the east. Rain with freshening southwest winds will get into the west before spreading east to all areas later tonight bringing a rise in temperatures. The rain will fall as sleet in places with snow over hills - especially in the north." Tomorrow is looking damp with sleet and snow. "Cloudy and breezy on Sunday morning with rain and sleet and some snow on high ground of the north. Becoming drier and brighter over midland and northern areas for a while during the day, but rain will continue at times in parts of Munster and south Leinster and will return northwards during the evening. Afternoon temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees Celsius."
